OUR PEOPLE
Scott Plumb
Scott is a Certified Public Accountant. Currently he serves as a Director/Secretary on the board of Numerica Credit Union. Scott is a past president of the Spokane Chapter of the Washington State Society of CPAs. He is also the past president of the Spokane Referral Network. Scott also has served on other non-profit boards.
Scott attended the University of Nevada and graduated from the University of Phoenix. He received his Executive MBA from the University of Idaho in 2013. Scott previously taught as an adjunct for Whitworth University in accounting and taxation. He really loves giving back to others through his teaching.
Scott grew up in Las Vegas where he had an accounting and taxation practice for over 20 years. He established Plumb and Associates in 2016 after going out on his own after partnering with a local Spokane firm.
He has raised seven (7) children and has eleven (11) grandchildren. During his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his wife Sandra, gardening, playing with grandchildren, and spoiling his dog, Washington.
Sandra Plumb
Sandra is our Office Manager. She is a graduate of the University of Montana with a Degree in Sociology (2001). She retired in 2021 after serving as a Probation and Parole Officer for the State of Montana for over fifteen (15) years.
She brings a strong organizational and computer background to the firm. Her other strengths include conflict resolution, a strong understanding of the government and the court system as well as problem solving.
She is a mother of four (4) and a grandmother of one (1). Her hobbies and interests include traveling, gardening, reading, and painting.
Tarra Bouanani
Tarra is our Tax Manager. She is a graduate of Washington State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business & Accounting (1999).
She is an innovative and driven accounting and tax professional with over 20 years of experience. She strives to learn new and efficient ways of doing things and takes on challenges that are sometimes out of her comfort zone. Tarra exhibits a high degree of interpersonal skills that allow her to initiate and sustain strong working relationships with both her clients and her colleagues. Tarra leads by example and is one who rolls up her sleeves and dives right in to get the job done.
After graduating WSU, Tarra landed a job opportunity with a mid-size accounting firm in downtown Spokane. After dedicating ten years to public accounting, she decided to dabble in private accounting, acting as the Controller for a local corporation for a couple of years. This position was a short-lived adventure, as she realized her heart belongs to public accounting. As a public accountant, she provides tax and accounting services for individuals and businesses and enjoys mentoring and training clients and colleagues.
In her spare time, Tarra enjoys being a mom to two young men, helping them navigate through their young adult lives. She enjoys camping, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Jennifer Powell
Jennifer Powell is an Accountant and is our Bookkeeping & Payroll Manager
Jennifer graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2019 with a major in both accounting and management information systems and a minor in business analytics. While in school, she graduated with summa cum laude honors (3.9
to 4.0 cumulative GPA) and had the privilege of being awarded the Frances B. Huston Medallion for academic excellence, an honor only given to 20 students every year who graduate from EWU. After graduation, she began a career in public accounting with emphasis on personal and business income tax returns, bookkeeping, and payroll.
When not working, she spends most of her time engaging in activities that work on both her physical and mental health, including weightlifting, yoga, running, walking, and many other various physical activities. She also tries to spend as much time outdoors in nature engaging in outdoor activities like camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, and site seeing. Any other spare time is spent with those she holds the dearest to her heart: her husband and her family.
Akiko Katori
Akiko is a Certified Public Accountant. She is a graduate of Gonzaga University where she obtained her Accounting Degree with an emphasis on Tax. She also has a degree in International Business.
Akiko grew up in Tokyo, Japan before moving to the United States to attend college. She has two (2) children in college. Akiko works part-time and is a valuable member of the team.
